Mixed results in Auckland Sale.

New Zealand Standardbred Bloodstock’s Auckland leg of their sale is done and dusted with the general conciseness that it was a mixed day.

The aggregate was down $778,000 from 2023, the average was also down $52,265 compared with last year’s $60905, Median was down from $46,750 to $40,000.

The clearance rate was 68% the same as the previous year with 83 yearlings of the 126 yearlings catalogued finding new homes.

Top price was once again a filly the first foal of champion race mare Princess Tiffany by Captaintreacherous was knocked down to Mark Jones for $270,000 with Mark Purdon the under bidder,

The top trotting yearling was also a filly by Tactical Landing out of Group 1 producing mare Love Ya Doosie, secured by Stonewall Stud for $180,000.  This filly was the most expensive trotting yearlings ever sold in New Zealand. 

West Australian Greg Bond was the leading Aussie buyer he purchased six lots, under the Team Bond label, with the top price of $140,000 for a Bettors Delight colt out of Steel The Light (Falcon Steelster) the dam of Group 1 winner Jett Star and open class pacer Steel The Show both good winners for Team Bond in WA.

The traveling road show moves to the South Island with two days commencing on Tuesday.
