Southern Cross heats are a great result for SA yearling sale.

The field for the Southern Cross heats at Globe Derby on Saturday night may not have been big in numbers but they certainly had plenty of quality.

The two-year-olds colts and geldings heats were a great advertisement for the South Australian Yearling Sale with both heats’ winners being sold at the 2022 sale.

First heat was won by NO NOTTHEBUTTONS a colt by Art Major from the McArdle mare Princess Fiona bred by Peter and Leslie Medhurst and purchased by Aaron Bain Racing and Summitt Bloodstock for $28,000. NoNotthebuttons is in the stable of Emma Stewart.

The other heat for the boys was won by BAY JIM MAJOR (Major Secret- Jimbaran Bay) bred by Stephen Norman at Allenby Lodge and trained by Les Harding was purchased by Daniella Madalinski for $8,500, Daniella was a first time buyer at the sales and now has a colt who is a live chance in the $30,000 final.

Star Man, also by Major Secret, was runner up to Bay Jim Major is also a graduate to the 2022 sale.

The two-year-old fillies divisions winners were Lil Miss Crocker owned and bred by Gary Crocker under his banner Walk Proud Pty Ltd and Miss Idaho

The Three-year-old’s heats the colts and geldings Lethal Louie (Sweet Lou x More Than All Right) and Hes All Torque (Pet Rock x Torque Lively), while the fillies race went to Delightfull Tammy (Bettors Delight x Rockin Tammy).
