ASBA's John Campbell receives Distinguished Service Medal

Distinguished Service Medal Distinguished Service Medals are presented to those within the industry who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve Victorian harness racing.

ASBA’s inaugural President, life member and long-time delegate for Harness Breeders Victoria was one of six participants to receive a 2021 Distinguished Service Medal at Victoria’s Night of Nights held at the Crown Palladium on May 1st.

Campbell was elected first ever President of the Australian Standardbred Breeders Association (ASBA) in 1992/1993 and served as President for two terms, he has been a vital part of ASBA over those 30 years

John and his wife Kay are principals of Loddon Valley Standardbred Stud at Lockwood 14 kilometres outside Bendigo and have stood may a nice stallion over the year one of the best is Union Guy and the ill fated Art Colony and the square trotters Danny Bouchea and more recently Australian and Victorian two-year-old trotter of his year Im Stately.

Campbell is also long term Chairman of the oldest clubs in Victoria the Boort Harness Racing Club which runs just two meetings a year.
