American Ideal is also the sire of sires with Heston Blue Chip and Hes Watching and locally Bling It On.

In recent years he stood at Kath McIntosh’s Llowalong Farm in conjunction with Woodlands Stud.

American Ideal served his first southern hemisphere crop in 2007/08 season at Woodlands and was moved to Llowalong Farm in 2020.

New Zealand’s Media and Bloodstock agent Garrick Knight had this to say about American Ideal in a post on X (Twitter) “American Ideal was one of the great sires. Criminally under-appreciated here in NZ… but his stock did the talking for him. He was unlucky to be stablemates with Bettor’s Delight as it relegated him to his shadow somewhat. A big loss, even at 22.
