Carrick the place to be on Australia Day.

By Duncan Dornauf for Tasracing

The 2024 Tasmanian Harness Racing Yearling Sale takes place at Carrick Park on Friday, 26 January, with 23 lots to go under the hammer.

Take a glance at the recent Devonport Pacing Cup, where the success of recent sales graduates is evident. The winner, Mickey Oh, was acquired for a mere $16,000 by Chris and Matthew Howlett along with Elliot Booth at our 2020 sale and has since amassed a staggering $182,420 in stake earnings.

Stepping Stones, who finished fourth in the Cup, was purchased by Heath and Aaron Woods in 2019 for $4,500 and has earned $112,326.

The 2024 sale is the first with a new partnership between Tasracing and Nutrien Equine, which has seen several enhancements to the sale, including online bidding, with registration for those using that option available now at auctionsplus.com.au.

The sale will be streamed on TasracingTV.

A lucrative $5,000 first Two-Year-Old bonus is up for grabs for those horses sold at the sale. Furthermore,  21 out of 23 lots are Tasbred eligible.

Purchasers of yearlings sold at the sale have the option to sustain them, making them eligible for the 2025 and 2026 Nutrien Sale Race Series.
